A Few Updates
Every now and then, I like to look back at a band that I have written about and see what they are up to now. Today, I have a couple tidbits for you.
Foggy Hollow
While on their way back from the Missoula Metal Fest in Montana, Foggy Hollow ran into some of the local wildlife. Literally. All of the guys are ok, the van’s front end was busted up, and sadly the doe didn’t survive the encounter. Due to the damage that was done, the guys were not able to make it to Tacoma, WA, for their show they had booked at Hel’s Kitchen. Keep an eye out for them , though, as they plan to hit several shows this summer everywhere out on the west side!
To tide us over, here’s a couple videos from a recent show at Tony V’s in Everett, WA:
Let me know what you think of these new videos!
Vio7
I just received an update from Armand of Vio7 today, letting me know that the recordings that have been up on their MySpace were originally practice demos. The band is currently in the studio recording an album. This is going to be a professionally recorded album that will be available on iTunes and in physical form (CD). I have been assured that these recordings will totally change my mind about the band, and believe you me, I am awaiting it excitedly! I really to wish these guys the best, and I can’t wait to give the new music another shot! Thanks to Armand for keeping me in the loop.
This excerpt is from Armand himself:
Since we never intended to actually release it as a CD to satisfy the demand, it was put on iTunes only. We are now in the studio, working on an actual CD that we’ll be recorded and produced professionally to replace the tracks on iTunes as well as release as a hard copy CD. For those who have bought any tracks from iTunes before the new release, they will get a free MP3s with a proof of purchase (receipt). So, no harm done
If everything works as planned, the recording should be out in stores in fall sometime. When you hear the new stuff, you’ll hear how dramatically different they are, from all aspects of it, including the ones you mentioned.
Good! Prove me wrong, please! I look forward to giving another listen.
Black Pyramid
The other day, I got the chance to listen to Black Pyramid. i just got the chance last night to read a great interview over on Neutronium Core. Check it out. It’s a great interview with TONS of great information about the band. Here’s an excerpt:
The Core: Any chance on touring beyond the North East to support the new album?
Andy: We’re hoping in the fall to tour down the Northeast, and also the upper Midwest, plus we’ll be playing the Stoner Hand of Doom festival in the fall, and we’re really excited about traveling to Maryland for that one.
Go check it out now.
So there we have it. Let me know what you think of all this news.
